A Blessed and Happy New Year to All!
The Bible says, "What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
Job faced affliction continuously until God finally settled him over. he stood the test of time longsuffering, pain, shame, mockery. Which ones of these did the Lord not lift him out of.
Consider those words,- An utter end.
Pharaoh on the other hand harshened the labor of the lsraelites so much pushing them into one affliction after another.
Exodus 1:12, KJV: "But the more they afflicted more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel." The Egyptians became terrified of the Israelites who were conquering.
The question is what happens when affliction rises a second time or appears to rise a second time. It was continuing afflictions and hardship for the Israelites. But there was an utter end to it.
But more than this and conquering to this, lve come to realise that post some afflictions come many breakthroughs, and even blessings on the horizon that can also sometimes attract afflictions and contentions. Job did not stop seeking God even after his wife told him to curse God!.
Fasting and prayer are affliction breakers. Prayers bring affliction to an "utter end".
Growth can be a positive result from afflictions or adverse experiences we encounter. If we allow them to teach us, we grow. They can enable us grow into whom God wants us to be. Again, Its a continuing reminder that God surely has an utter end to affliction. This year has had its huge impact and afflictions have been many.
Despite numerous examples, we see in the bible of those whose affliction God brought to an an utter end, the word "affliction" remains a sensitive word to many. It is likened to reproach, shame and comes with several negative connotations. However, we may never understand some afflictions as God's people. Some afflictions come to grow us and God uses them positively to go on to multiply us in areas of our life.
There are many who through their afflictions grew and multiplied in the bible and in the world. We can think of many names and recall their stories and legacies.
Prayer point 2 Chronicles 7:14
Oh Lord, Help me arise and pray that you bring to an utter end the numerous afflictions that are ongoing in this world in Jesus name. I bring my family, leaders, workers in the frontline under the blood of Jesus. You have told us that, many are our afflictions but you deliver us from them all. A hedge of protection from. You is our plea in Jesus name. Amen.
